Hauraki District Council is playing it safe after water samples have revealed problems in two of its rural water supplies. Yesterday afternoon a precautionary boil water notice was hand delivered in person to about 100 Mackaytown households after samples showed high sediment levels in the community’s water supply. Another precautionary boil water notice was hand delivered to around 100 Kaimanawa residents this morning following the confirmation of the presence of E.coli in that network.
Measles continues to circulate in Hamilton and surrounding areas. Waikato District Health Board’s Population Health service has confirmed 15 measles cases and another 12 under investigation. One of the new confirmed cases attended the Kapa Haka event when an earlier measles case was there while infectious.
