Waikato District Health Board’s annual report for the 2013-2014 financial year (1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014) was tabled in Parliament a week before Christmas.
In it board chair Bob Simcock reports on a year of great change with the completion of Waikato DHB’s massive $500 million building programme, continual improvement in health targets’ performance, recruitment of a new chief executive and changes in board membership.
“Throughout the year, we strengthened our focus on quality as a priority so we can achieve the best outcomes for our patients and clients.”
Waikato DHB finished the year with a $3.8 million surplus, $2 million favourable to budget.
The 182 page annual report includes several “Did you know” facts about Waikato DHB such as the number of births, people registered with general practitioners, presentations to its five emergency departments, outpatient appointments and elective operations.
